Addictions and Stuff

Poker not enough for you? Need another addiction to add to your list? Then go visit The Pusher Alan and he will hook you up.

It all starts innocently enough. "Yeah, go check out this link," he says. Of course you do, trusting him, there is simply no way you can foresee the dark path that lies ahead.

All is well at first, it's just recreational. Soon though you find yourself unable to stop at just one. You need to get your fix more and more often until it totally takes over your life. Work gets pushed aside, you begin to neglect your friends. Your life as you knew it has been changed forever.

"Just one more, only one more," you keep telling yourself, though you no longer believe it.

You would think your friends would help you - a little intervention, perhaps, but noooo. Once you show them the source, they become junkies just like yourself. "Ohhh...I got to level 10!" they exclaim, just making you try that much harder to beat your best score.

Soon you find yourself pushing it too. It's no fun to be hooked on it all by yourself. "Just try it once, it's lots of fun. Everyone is doing it," you tell your friends. Of course they do, trusting your judgment, not able to see the consequence of this simple little action.

It's too late for me now, but you can still save yourself. Don't click on the link below, seriously. You will be sorry you did.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone

Happy Val. Day everyone!

I am on this crazy sleep schedule lately - going to bed at 8am and sleeping until about 2 or 3 in the afternoon usually. Works well for playing late night poker, but not so good for keeping in touch with everyone since I am either working or hanging with the family during the remaining daylight hours. I've been playing a lot of $3/6 6-handed lately though - I really wanted to get back into some ring game action since I just don't have the time to focus on tournaments right now (withdrawls!) other than the weekly WWdN's.

We are still progressing with the packing, hoping to be done our stuff around here by the end of the month, then we will be driving down to Vegas to finalize the paperwork and find a place to live. Once that is done, we are coming back and putting our house up for sale and will move when it sells. That is the plan, anyways, but a lot can happen between now and then so you never know.

Quite honestly, I have been too busy to even get excited about it, though after seeing the snow storm that hit the East Coast I'm reminded about how much I hate the winter weather - even though our weather has been deceptively nice.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Hallmark holiday. Eat some chocolate for me please. I can't stand the stuff.

Save BG! Plus Other Random Thoughts

If you haven't already heard about the Save BG! campaign, then you obviously don't read enough poker blogs. Since Pauly, Sir Al, Wil, and the rest have written it up so well, I will leave you to follow the links to hear the whole story - but please do what you can to help him out.

Moving on...

I've been super busy still, putting in way more hours than I care to admit on getting our house ready to sell. We are hoping to be done everything within the next month, and will go to Vegas at that time to secure a place. We are actually moving to Henderson - they have a ton of houses for rent, so it looks like we will take that route for the first six months and then decide if we are going to buy. We are up to our ears in paperwork since it isn't that easy to just move from one country to the next, but hopefully soon this part of it will be over.

The biggest consideration we have for getting a place is making sure it has room for guests, since we are anticipating A LOT of people to come visit. Plus, we currently have a tiny house and are in desperate need of more room since we both work from home, so we are looking to resolve that issue when we move as well. Fortunately, there are hundreds of 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom houses for rent there, so I don't see that being an issue.

I have to get ready for the Star Trek ActorWWdN tourney tonight - if you haven't already signed up - get on it, eh?
